Bambu Lab A1 vs A1 mini vs P1S: Which Should You Buy?

The A1 mini, A1 and P1S are Bambu Lab's three most popular printers — and the three people agonize over most. Here's a straight comparison to help you choose, with prices in CAD and all three in stock at NEX3D.

Bambu Lab A1 mini — best for first-timers and tight spaces

The A1 mini is small, quiet and the most affordable way into Bambu Lab quality. Its 180 mm bed handles the vast majority of beginner projects. Add the AMS lite Combo for 4-color printing. Choose it if you're new, budget-conscious, or short on desk space.

Bambu Lab A1 — best value for most hobbyists

The full-size A1 gives you a larger 256 mm bed and the same effortless, near-silent printing. For most home users who print PLA and PETG and want occasional multi-color, the A1 Combo is the sweet spot of size, features and price.

Bambu Lab P1S — best all-rounder and only enclosed option here

The P1S is the upgrade that lasts. Its fully enclosed chamber lets you print ABS, ASA and other engineering filaments the A-series can't handle, while staying fast and quiet. With an AMS it manages up to 16 colors. If you think you'll grow into functional or higher-temp prints, buy the P1S now and skip the upgrade later.

The bottom line

  • Just starting / tight budget: A1 mini
  • Want full size + multi-color for PLA/PETG: A1 Combo
  • Want to print everything, long-term: P1S
